Overcoming Difficult Trials

Tonight I went to hear an evangelist by the name of Nicky Vujicic.  He has an amazing testimony.  He has no arms or legs.  He a Pastor’s son and was desperately unhappy growing up as a child.  Yes, he was bullied and very lonely.

When he was 15, he prayed and cried himself to sleep asking God to give him legs and arms so he could be just like everyone else.  He wanted to be normal.

The Lord spoke to him years later and reminded him of this prayer request.  The Lord said, “If I had honored your prayer, you would not have led these 500,000 people to the saving grace of God before the age of 30.”

Nicky is so confident in his walk and love for God.  He realizes that this time we spend on earth is for but a moment.  He understands that it is in his weakness and limitations that God is glorified.  He was amazing.  Tonight 250 people dedicated their lives to Christ.

This made me think, what am I willing to give up and suffer for the sake of sharing the Good News with others?  It is a blessing to share hope to others lost or hurt.

Finally, we read of miracles in the bible but don’t hear of them much now, in our present day.  Nicky shared a story where he healed a bedridden woman through prayer, faith, and the grace of God.  For four years she could not walk and then, through intercession…. She could!

Miracles DO happen in our present times.  They are rare but they happen.  Hope springs eternal.  I was blessed and encouraged tonight and I hope this post encourages you as well.  I am praying for a miracle in the lives of those who need one.  If the miracle does not happen, it is not because of a lack of faith in the ability of God to accomplish one.  It is simply because, like Nicky, He may be using your circumstances for His glory.

PSALM 30:2 (NASB)                                                                                                        O Lord, My God, I cried to You for help, and You healed me.

Jeremiah 30:17                                                                                                           For I will restore health to you And heal you of your wounds,’ says the LORD, ‘ Because they called you an outcast saying: “This is Zion; No one seeks her.”

1 Corinthians 12:27-28 “Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular. And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.”

  1. Thanks for the recent verses you have been posting. I meditate over them and have memorised a few. I love the quote of TD Jakes.

  2. I agree it is a thought provoking comment/quote. Of course the teacher in me is trying to overlook the spelling error… your vs you’re. Either way, the quote is absolute truth and worth posting and meditating on. I am so glad you are memorizing scripture. I should write a post on that idea as I have serval thoughts about it. Do you have a LIFE VERSE(S)?
