Overcoming Difficult Trials

Faith. Faith in God. How does YOUR faith in God get you through the day, or a trial?

Do you find that by believing in heaven, a place where we are promised “no more tears or sorrows” helps you? It certainly helps and encourages me.

I also like to think of Heaven as a place where there are no more good-byes. The Bible, as far as I know, does not say that goodbyes are non-existent, but once in Heaven…… where else would we go?

I am inclined to believe that the lessons and skills learned on earth are used up in Heaven for God’s pleasure and glory. We may all be in different sections of God’s realm doing different things, but I like imagining that I can think of a loved one and suddenly appear in front of them for a quick hug. I’d then obediently go back to His gardens, as I think I might be used to help design or care for them in my afterlife. (Look for me there, Dear Reader!!)

My Spiritual “Big Sister” in the Lord and I are convinced we will be next door neighbors with mansions by the sea. There will be a lovely garden connecting our homes and a gate that is never locked.

Then again, when I read John 14 it appears we will ALL live in God’s magnificent mansion in that it has many, many rooms. In that case we would be next to each other in the hallway! You know, a giant eternal slumber party where nobody gets on your nerves.

I like imagining my world with God when life on earth seems hard. I know that the sufferings we endure down here are not worth comparing to the riches we will enjoy in our eternal kingdom. So, hold on my dearest. It is not easy down here but it is temporary. A century (if we are lucky) on earth is but a blink of an eye in what awaits us in our eternal home with Christ.

ROMANS 8:18 (NIV) I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.

REVELATION 21:4 (NIV) He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.

JOHN 14:2-3 (NIV) My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.
