Overcoming Difficult Trials

OLD YEAR AND NEW YEAR

Image

For me, I never really gave the incoming year much thought. January 1st was always a day spent reflecting on the past year. I think I need to change my way of thinking, or at least modify it.

Has this past year been one of a lot of change for you? Were the changes unwelcomed but necessary? What about blessings? Can you identify blessings from 2012? You might have to dig a bit deeper but they are there, if you look deep. Maybe you have new friends and neighbors. How about a new pet or job? If you were pruned in 2012 you can look forward to a spiritual springtime full of fruit

This new year will be one of more changes. Isn’t that really how life works? Perpetual growth is better than stagnant waters in our walk with God. Sadly, many Christians walking through trials choose to sit in those stagnant waters, instead of using the difficult circumstances they are walking through to witness and bless.

Do you want to be an old book sitting a shelf collecting dust? I would rather be an open book, read by curious minds looking to learn and grow in knowledge and wisdom. Why not open your heart in 2013 and welcome the new experiences? To learn and grow for the glory of His kingdom will only bless you. Don’t live the mundane life of constant drudgery and routine. Allow each day to be one that God plans and leads you through. Welcome the daily life interruptions and see them as Divine Interventions. The sidewalk snow can get cleared tomorrow and the dusting can wait as well.

Change might not be a part of your comfort zone but if you can push through and change your attitude, your walk with God will never be boring. Let us both be transformed by the renewing of our lives and minds.

Happy New Year Dear Reader!!!!

Philippians 3:13-14 (NLT)
No, dear brothers and sisters, I am still not all I should be, but I am focusing all my energies on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I strain to reach the end of the race and receive the prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us up to heaven.

Ecclesiastes 3:11 (NIV)
He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end.
