Sometimes it feels like I’m watching from the outside

But we are citizens of heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives. And we are eagerly waiting for him to return as our Savior. 21 He will take our weak mortal bodies and change them into glorious bodies like his own, using the same power with which he will bring everything under his control.
DEAR READER
Many of you are weary from the journey God has led you to and I don’t want you to give up and sit down, at least not for long. Rest is okay but to loose heart is not for you. YOU are a child of God! You are mighty and able to DO ALL THINGS through HIM WHO GIVES YOU STRENGTH! (Phil 4:13).
Remember, you are an alien and sojourner in this world. You are not supposed to be comfortable and at ease in a place that is not your home. When you go on a trip and stay in a hotel, you are not as at ease and comfortable as when you are in your own home. Well, the same is true for our spiritual walk on earth. All of the trails you experience here, all of the people you meet, all of the ways of the world: materialism, adultery, greed, abuse, hate….. should remind you that YOU ARE NOT HOME YET.
We should be feeling a sense of longing when looking up into the heavens. Yes, when we see the moon rise in the evening sky, remember that your home is an eternal one in the clouds. We are not home yet. But as the hymn reminds us…..’SOON YES, VERY SOON…… WE ARE GOING TO SEE THE KING!”
I LOOK FORWARD TO MEETING ALL OF YOU UP THERE. (AGAIN, I SAID THIS BEFORE….. LOOK FOR ME IN THE GARDEN BY THE SEA!)

Dear friends, I urge you, as aliens and strangers in the world, to abstain from sinful desires, which war against your soul. Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us.

I love that song by Building 429. I know I’m not alone here when I say that I let the cares of this world weigh me down and cause me to forget that I am merely a visitor in a foreign land too often! So thank you for the reminder. It is much appreciated.
Indeed Ms Like… you are NOT alone. Many of us are trying not to drown in our sorrows and storms. But we must keep our eyes looking up. We can make this journey and gain a lot os wisdom in the process. Let’s all make an effort to encourage each other this week by comforting friends and strangers with the comfort that has been shown to us. Blessings!
