Overcoming Difficult Trials

IN YOUR FACE

PSALM 139:1-4         You have searched me, Lord,
and You know me.  You know when I sit and when I rise; You perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down;
You are familiar with all my ways. Before a word is on my tongue You, Lord, know it completely.

Imagine waking up to this in your face.  My “Little Man”, otherwise known as Bosco, has an attitude.  If he wants attention, he wants it now!  If he wants to go outside, it better be sooner than later.  Say I am busy doing things around the house and he does not feel like I have given him his sufficient quota of love and attention, I hear about it.  He let’s me know when it is time to get up, well…..look at him!  He is a very good communicator.

Here is my question for you Dear Reader,

Are you a good communicator when it comes to talking to God??  Do you take time on a daily basis to chat with your Father and Savior??  Believe me, He wants to hear from you….. and often!

What makes a good communicator?  I can only speak for myself but for me,  a good communicator has to be a good listener.  In order to respond and contribute to a conversation, he needs to hear the details and read the emotions of the one speaking to him.

He also has to have an immunization against that dreaded FOOT AND MOUTH disease.  A good communicator weighs his words and chooses them carefully.  Why? Because we are told in the Word that reckless words pierce like a sword.  OUCH!!  Can I hear an, “Amen Sister!” out there?  It is the tongue of the wise that brings healing.

So, God is a wonderful listener and therefore an outstanding communicator.  However, YOU may not be  great at listening to Him.  Chances are there is room for improvement when it comes to sharing your personal fears, thoughts, and hopes with the Father.  Well, surprise, surprise!! God knows your thoughts even BEFORE YOU THINK THEM!  There is no hiding your anger, fear, sorrow, love, or anxiety.  Not only does He know your frame, He knows your mind and how you think.

Therefore, talk to Him.  He longs for your conversation and desires your attention.  He will give you His listening ears and some very wise counsel if you ask for it without doubting.  He is only a, “Dear God” away.  Call out to Him and visit for a while.  You will be glad you did…. And so will He.

PROVERBS 12:18

Reckless words pierce like a sword, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.

  1. Bosco does look like he knows what he wants and when he wants it. That won’t work with prayer, but staying in touch with God is absolutely necessary!

  2. Yes Genevieve, we can’t manipulate God into answering our prayers or force His hand to speed things up to meet our timeframe. We need to stay in touch with Him so we can hear what He has to say about our prayer requests.

    Bosco says hello

  3. I had been praying for weeks and listening so hard about my needing a job. I didn’t hear anything no matter how I strained. Two days a go an idea popped into my head. I thought it and vanished it. Finally yesterday I gave in to it because it would not leave. I made a call and now am going to meet with someone on Friday who may be able to help me find work. They are going to try to make something fit around my bad feet from diabetis. I have a very strong feeling that this is from God because the thought nagged at me for two days until I did something about it

  4. Terry, I so understand the frustration of wanting a job, looking for one, waiting for one, and still not having one! Just this week God sent two freelance writing jobs my way. Never in my life did I think I could get paid for writing. Open your mind to new ways God wants to use you. I am pleased you are meeting with someone who can help you get a job. I am sending up a prayer for you right now. Blessings!
