Overcoming Difficult Trials

You were reaching through the storm
Walking on the water, even when I could not see
In the middle of it all when I thought you were a thousand miles away
Not for a moment did You forsake me

After all You are CONSTANT
After all You are only GOOD
After all You are SOVEREIGN
Not for a moment will You forsake me

You were singing in the dark, whispering Your promise
Even when I could not hear
I was held in Your arms carried for a thousand miles to show
Not for a moment did you forsake me

And every step every breath You are there
Every tear every cry every prayer
In my heart at my worst, when my world falls down
Not for a moment will you forsake me.

Even in the dark, even when it’s hard
You will never leave me
Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Dear Reader,
It seems like God is trying to get a big point across. HE WILL NOT FORSAKE US!  In an earlier post I was writing about obedience and how God sometimes tests our love for Him. When we hesitate on following through on the things He wants us to do, we are in rebellion.

Maybe you are hesitating out of fear or pain. Maybe you choose to be rebellious because you don’t want to take a risk by stepping out. Well, this song is a reminder that He will be with you always, especially during scary or uncertain moments.

He is with you every step of the way and knows the fear in your heart. He understands your worry. But do you recall how “He knows that our frame is but dust?” He will not ask anything beyond your strength because HE IS YOUR STRENGTH.

If your world seems to be falling apart it is only because God wants to put it back together in an even better way. So when your path is dark, let Him be the lamp that guides you. When your journey is hard, let Him be the one to carry your load. HE will reach through your storm and carry you through it to calm waters.  He is Constant, Good, and Sovereign. Not for a moment will He forsake you.

PSALM 119: 105 Your word is a lamp for my feet,
a light on my path.
