Overcoming Difficult Trials

The Promise Of God’s Forgiveness

Forgive Me? Small

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.    1 John 1:9 (NKJV)

1 John 1:9 is a PROMISE.  We will find forgiveness in Christ if we confess our sins. This is a blessed assurance.  He will never say, “No, I don’t accept your apology and confession.  I do not forgive you. I do not want a relationship with you.”

Some of you may know the heartache of humbling yourself and apologizing for something, hoping to restore a relationship, only to be rebuffed or ignored.  Your cry to be forgiven was not met with love or a consoling pardon.  This pain is one I know well. However, all we can do is what the scripture instructs and then leave it to God to mend.

  1. I think I apologize so much for my mistakes God is thinking, what a broken record!!!!

      Ms Terry,
Only you know the answer to this situation. God will never tire of our confessions…. but we only have to confess the sin once and it is in the sea of forgetfulness. Hugs, Cheryl

      • I meant I apologize for every mistake I am aware of that I make, not the same one over and over. Sorry, I didn’t explain it well enough
